At St Joseph Catholic MAT, we are celebrating another milestone. Holy Family Catholic Academy is now the fifth SJCMAT school in 2024/25 to receive a ‘GOOD in all areas’ rating from Ofsted. This milestone mirrors our high aspirations and shared vision of delivering a world-class Catholic education.
Included in the report is praise for the school’s ambitious curriculum, high standards, and commitment to pupil well-being. Inspectors highlighted: “Trustees and members of the local governing body know the school exceptionally well. They provide confident, strategic leadership.”
Since opening, the Holy Family Catholic Academy has worked tirelessly to nurture the personal development of each child and ensure that pupils are not only academically ready but also prepared to face the challenges of the wider world. Among the many positive observations about the school where pupils are “well prepared for their future,” the report also states how “staff, including teachers who are at the early stage of their careers, embrace the development opportunities that the school and the trust provide to them.” This is a testament to our Trust’s relentless efforts to maintain the highest standards for all the members across all our schools.
The Ofsted inspectors also praised the school for its inclusive atmosphere, where “Pupils champion diversity” and “help everyone in the school to feel welcome.” This reflects our focus on our Trust’s wider vision of academic excellence, inclusion, and faith-led education.
Ofsted praised the leadership at Holy Family, stating, “Trustees and members of the local governing body have an exceptional understanding of the school.” They emphasised the strong collaboration between school leaders and the Trust, which helps maintain the highest standards for all students.
Here are some highlights from the report:
- “Pupils display positive attitudes to their learning.”
- “The school has high aspirations for pupils’ academic success. It has raised its expectations of what pupils can achieve across a broad range of subjects.”
- “Pupils behave sensibly in class and during break times. They look out for one another and support each other’s mental health.”
- “By the time that they leave the school in Year 6, pupils are increasingly ready for the demands of secondary school.”
- “Starting in the early years, the school identifies pupils’ additional needs quickly, including any special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).”
While we celebrate yet another SJCMAT school being recognised for its excellence, our focus remains on our wider vision of delivering the highest quality, faith-filled education that every child deserves. As our Trust continues to grow, we are committed to sustaining excellence across all our schools and upholding the highest standards as a beacon of Catholic education.
