Become a School Governor

Could you be our next School Governor?

One of the key ways in which you can support the mission of our Trust is to become a Governor, which is a voluntary role, as part of the Local Governing Board (LGB). We’re focused on transforming the lives of all pupils, and our School Governors should share that focus.

As a faith Trust, our LGBs are made up of foundation governors – people who preserve the religious character of the academy – alongside the Headteacher, parent governor(s) and, where required, non-foundation governor(s).

No previous educational experience is necessary; effective boards comprise a diverse range of knowledge, skills and backgrounds.

Overall, our School Governors are dedicated and passionate individuals.  At their heart, they care about the progress and success of each pupil, ensuring that the academy transforms children’s lives through world-class Catholic education.

How to Apply to Become a Governor

Applicants of SJCMAT are required to complete an Expression of Interest Form and a Catholic Education Services (CES) Skills Assessment, providing at least two personal references and for those applying for a foundation governors role, an additional faith reference is required.
